Book Blurb

His Royal Highness Prince Rocky Jude Maxwell Bill Robert Chuck—let’s just call him Bob, shall we?—has a problem. Namely, royal parents set on marrying him off to a princess from the neighboring kingdom. Only, Bob doesn’t want to get married, would rather ogle Sir Blacksmith than fair maidens, and has a sneaking suspicion that his intended bride is not what she seems. So, where is a desperate prince with commitment issues supposed to turn?

Speaking of “not what they seem,” Sir Ribbit has been cooling his heels, literally, in the local bog with his disgraced fairy godmother and thousands of other frogs, waiting for the opportunity to break a three-year-old curse and return to his human form of Prince Evan Chuck Leo—Oh, heck, let’s call him Dave—hopefully, before maxing out a frog’s limited lifetime.

When a royal snit lands Bob in the muck of Dave’s front yard, plans are made to help each other. Inept plans, but still. Oh, and someone has to kiss a frog because everyone knows you have to kiss a few frogs before you land a handsome prince.

Book Review

Bob, of 'The Prince's Frog’, is depressed because he doesn’t want to marry a nearby kingdom’s princess. Bob wanders into a swamp, where he encounters a talking frog. After getting over the fact that the frog can talk, he confides to Sir Ribitt, aka Dave, about his problems. Seeing an opportunity, Dave listens patiently. For the curse placed on him by a begrudged fairy, he needs to be kissed by a prince. Dave assures Bob that he has a solution to his dilemma and encourages him to return the next day so he can tell him about it.

In the meantime, Dave visits a fairy to ask for her help. He asks that she turn him into a man for just one day. With some difficulty, she does so. When Bob returns, Dave tells him that he has to take Dave back to his castle so he can explain his plan. Bob isn't sure about taking a frog back to his bedchamber, but he does since he is desperate. However, when Dave's visit becomes more than Bob could ever have imagined, he finds that it's not such a bad deal after all.

'The Prince's Frog' is a tongue-in-cheek retelling of the fairy tale ‘The Frog Prince’. Life teaches both Dave and Bob a lesson about humility as they learn to alter their perception of the world and gain happiness. Thanks, Eden. You made me laugh out loud.
