When Jason takes the chance on a blind date, it’s then that his eyes are finally opened.

Wealthy winery owner Jason is happy to claim that he’s too busy to have a love life or a romance. He has all he needs with his personal secretary taking care of his business life and an old friend looking after the yacht where they live.

When he’s invited to a Valentine’s masked ball, Jason asks his assistant Kris to find him a date for the evening. To Jason’s shock, instead of someone Jason knows and is comfortable with, Kris sets him up with a blind date—one he claims will be a perfect match. Trusting him, Jason agrees.

His date appears dressed as Princess Buttercup, and Jason is surprised at just how comfortable he is with the unknown person.

But when Buttercup is abused by another party attendee, Jason follows his distraught guest and his eyes are fully opened.

When ‘the moment’ comes, will Jason grab it with both hands?

Book Review

It remains problematic whether an important characteristic of fairy tales is the absolute predictability of the story’s flow. Almost immediately upon being introduced to the main characters – and then posing a problem for them, the rest of the tale is inevitable. It’s like jumping from a plane with a parachute – resulting in either satisfaction or, surprisingly, ennui.

The blurb for ‘The Moment’ just about tells you all that’s to come. Nonetheless, Pelaam provides sufficient coloration, adding some spice to a frequently eaten meal. We learn that Jason, despite his high life style, occasionally is lonely. He is outgoing, but needs periods of solitude. He is a hairy “bear” and likes to go sans undies, free balling! Kris is also set up, as a good man who seems too busy to date. He (get ready for a literary omen) wears his long hair in a man bun, and has legs that go on forever!

Like a good gay fairy tale, first there is some hot, imaginary (masturbatory) sex. “Fuck. If I come like that thinking about him, he’ll damn near kill me if we ever do it for real.” On the way to the inevitable HEA, our main characters engage is extensively detailed hot sex.

While the story is, perhaps a little sophomoric, for the reader looking to sacrifice a little time and extraneous brain cells, ‘The Moment’ is just about an adequate investment.
