To be with your vampire lover for eternity, first he has to turn you.

To become a vampire, first you have to die.

Levi has wanted to be like Gerard—strong, rich, ageless—since they first started their relationship, and the night for Gerard to change him has finally come. But Gerard doesn't want to rush through it. He wants to savor it.

Levi finds himself, in his last hours as a man, stretched to his limit.

Book Review

Have you ever wondered what it would feel like being turned into a vampire? Maybe you have, and maybe you haven't – personally, I only ever thought about the result, not the process. Other than realizing, if most of the existing lore is to be believed, it would entail being sucked dry, dying, then somehow reawakening from the dead. I've never imagined that process to be enjoyable or something to be celebrated. That is where this short story taught me the errors of my thinking quite effectively.

Gerard, a vampire of around six hundred years of age, has finally agreed to turn his sub, Levi, so they can spend eternity together. Levi is very excited, and though he knows it will hurt, and dying is certainly not going to be fun, he trusts his Master to do it right. And Gerard certainly has an unforgettable evening planned!

As the two men progress from dinner to other activities, things heat up considerably. The table becomes part of their play, and the leg of a chair is put to an interesting use, before they move things upstairs for the final moments. Every second is described from Levi's point of view, and it's very clear that he cannot wait for the end result where his Master is determined to make it last as long as possible. Very nicely done. And the ending, if somewhat abrupt and unexpected, at least I didn’t foresee the story would stop there, is just perfect.

If you like vampire stories, if you want to find out what it might feel like to be turned and have it described in full color, and if you're looking for a hot read with lots of hot vampire on man action, then you will probably like this short story.
