Book Blurb

TJ Davis set his sights on a career as a broncobuster. He left the small town of Rockville and hasn’t looked back in ten years—not until he  returns home, as the headliner of a rodeo that he organized himself.

Graham followed his friend’s meteoric rise to fame and even attended a number of his events. But his shy nature prevented him from contacting his childhood friend, even though he still has strong feelings for TJ. Now Graham is working as a paramedic at TJ’s Easter weekend rodeo, and he’s determined not to let this chance—or any more time—slip through his fingers.

Book Review

Shyness can be an awful affliction, and paired with not being sure what your best buddy from ten years ago thinks about you, now that he is a rodeo star, I can see why Graham has not worked up the courage to talk to his childhood best friend. When the opportunity presents itself, in the form of TJ visiting his hometown, Graham finally gets up the courage – to ask him to dinner at his family’s ranch. After the sizzling chemistry in their short encounter just before that dinner, I certainly hoped that wouldn’t be all they’d get up to!

As it turns out, their interest is mutual and things heat up fast. But TJ is still a rodeo star and has to travel and Graham is a paramedic with a job in a small town. For quite a while things do not look good for the longer term – until the author comes up with a very creative solution that had me sigh in relief.

If you like childhood friends reconnecting and becoming more, if you want to see a rodeo star and a paramedic figure out their feelings for each other and deal with the consequences, and if you’re looking for a brief, entertaining read with lots of passion, then you will probably like this short story.
