Book Blurb

Mario De Luca is a former biker and the key witness in a trial that will put a mobster away for a very long time...if he makes it to testify.

New York City Detective Andre Dubois is after a drug dealer who just happens to be the same 'phantom' the FBI wants for suspected terrorist activities. And when Andre gets too close, he is immediately slated for protective custody.

Agent Wayne Connelly is assigned to guard Detective Dubois, who happens to be the most arrogant and promiscuous man he's ever met. The fact that Dubois is just too good looking, and knows it, doesn't improve Wayne's mood in the least.

Dubois doesn't want to be taken out into the woods for safekeeping with a man he thinks is the most anal-retentive person he's ever met. But there's a lot Andre doesn't know about him…

Book Review

I absolutely loved this book. Hilarious from the first pages, it took me on a roller coaster ride of two men who started out totally at odds with each other, and ended up, well, I won't give any details, but they are not only funny together, but totally hot as well. I was impressed by DJ's ability to merge the two sides of both main characters, playing them off against each other while "sneaking in" the fact that they end up falling for each other.

Detective Dubois can be quite playful, but doesn't seem to take anything (other than his job) seriously. Agent Conelly is buttoned up so tight he must find it difficult to breathe - but there are good reasons for him being this way. I loved the banter between them, the various names Dubois calls the agent, how they each drove the other crazy and how they eventually fall into lust.

This is a worthy addition to the Melting Ice series. While the core of the story is still about a "tough guy" (or two) finding love, the added humor was a great benefit and made the whole book even more fun to read. I am certainly glad that there are more volumes in this series!
