Book Blurb

Dealing with the unexpected loss of his mother isn’t how carpenter Steve Browning planned to spend his Christmas. Hoping her costume jewelry can bring some happiness to others, he takes it to the local community theater, where he runs into his first love, Troy Baxter.

Troy’s trying to help his sister put on a gender-fluid version of A Christmas Carol, but no one on the cast or crew knows which end of a hammer to hold let alone use a power tool. Then a face from the past brings a present-day miracle… one that could lead to the happy future they both thought they gave up back in high school.

Book Review

Christmastime usually evokes visions of sugar plum fairies, bright lights, and tidings of great joy for most people, but it can also be a time of sadness. This year, the latter is true for Steven Browning and his younger brother, Peter, of ‘Christmas Ghosts’ by Jenn Moffatt, whose mother has died of cancer eleven days before December twenty-fifth.

Going through her things is heartbreaking, but it must be done. They donate as much as they can, but when it comes to her jewelry, they hesitate. Thinking of two old friends, Trey Baxter and his twin sister, who run a theater, Steve decides that they may want the jewelry to use in their costume department. Trey was his high school sweetheart, the one who got away. Steve knows seeing him will bring back sad memories, but it is something he needs to face. Even though they have drifted apart, neither man has forgotten the feelings they had before. When they see each other, it is like they have never ever been apart, both hoping that their Christmas presents to each other may involve a second chance at happiness.

This is an endearing holiday story bringing together two men who were meant to be with each other, whose relationship brought hope and comfort in a difficult time. Thanks, Jenn, for the delightful tale.
