What happens when a besieged and rather small dragon comes to a vampire and says, "I need your help"? Or when that vampire comes to a werewolf and says, "I have a job for you"? The vampire goes and builds a resort for things that go bump in the night, deep in the Cascade Mountains. Riding the wave of Julia Talbot's Bloodrose series, the multi-author Cereus: The Building features paranormal romance Sean Michael, Julia Talbot and BA Tortuga.
Julia Talbot's It's Elemental features construction contractor Chayton, a werewolf who thinks demon decorator Kenny is a little fussy, and a lot hot. They argue about everything from feng shui to sex. Will they be able to resolve their differences?
The Third Course, by BA Tortuga, tells the story of Marco and Stephan, werecats, pridemates, and chefs who meet their match in head-bartender, Faelan, who just happens to be a growly, sexy Top.
Finally, Sean Michael's Smoke and Gold follows the head dominant of the club, Zee, who's dealing with trying to get his playrooms just so and trying to figure out maddening dragon, Daniel, at the same time. Who can resist loving a dragon?
NOTE: This book was previously published by Torquere Press in September 2011.
This must be one of the most fun, interesting, and hot books of intermixing paranormals and supernatural beings around. The idea of building a resort, or a "kinky little getaway" in the words of the instigator, for the use of different species at the same time, is bound to lead to some interesting situations. Cats and wolves changing at the same times? Vampires and dragons trying to get along with everyone? I couldn’t wait to get started.
It’s Elemental by Julia Talbot is the story of strong, macho, silent Chayton, a native American werewolf with a rather odd totem animal. One he'd rather not talk about. He growls a lot, and as he gets the job done, the demon decorator Kenny gets on his nerves. Well, it works both ways. Kenny is into feng shui and the finer things of life, while Chayton is more – earthy. Their arguments, banter and outright fights were wonderful, and as soon as they get physical, the sparks really do fly. I loved their interactions!
The Third Course by BA Tortuga features werecat brothers who love getting into trouble. All they want is to play, and not everyone at the growing resort is appreciative. They run the kitchen and get to work with many different people, but the one who catches their attention is head bartender Faelen, a rather toppy werewolf. He does his best to keep them in line, but cats and dogs don’t always mix well, as they find out during the full moon. But nothing changes the fact they are meant for each other, so they just have to fight it out and learn to live with each other. What fun!
Smoke and Gold by Sean Michael brings back the dragon whose land the resort is built on. Daniel is a great guy, but has lots of self-confidence issues. They are totally unfounded, but it takes top-Dom and demon Zee quite a while to get through to him. Daniel doesn’t submit easily, and their word and other battles are hilarious. Once they figure it out, emotions run high and the demon-on-dragon action gets even hotter!
A great collection of fun paranormal stories, this book can be read on its own. Some of the characters appear in other books of the Bloodrose series, but you won’t enjoy this book less if you haven’t read them. If you like paranormal beings of different backgrounds, if you want to see what can happen when some of them mix, clash, and learn to love each other, and if you're looking for a fun, light read that will entertain you and make you smile, give this book a try.
