Can one older alpha be the Daddy two boys need?

Newcomers to the PTP ranch, beta Lars and omega Sven try to keep their relationship secret. Sweet Sven settles in quickly, but Lars's bratty behavior is not making him friends, especially with alpha Grayson, a man twenty years his senior.

When Sven's heat is coming and he needs an alpha, it's Grayson he trusts, and Lars has to swallow his pride...amongst other things. Grayson sees through him and figures out what Lars really craves. But what alpha would want two boys? Can Grayson be the Daddy these two need?

Author's Note:
This is not a stand-alone but continues the story from the first two books. It ends with an HEA for our three men, but the overall storyline will continue in the next books.

Book Review

I jumped into this third book in the series without even taking a breath as I’m seriously hooked at this point. I will reiterate the author’s recommendation that these books need to be read in order. There is too much backstory and relationship building that continues throughout each consecutive book and, in my opinion, trying to read these as standalones would make it frustrating to understand this world. ‘Beta’s Surrender’ focuses on Grayson, Lars, and Sven, and their story had me turning pages just as quickly as each of the previous novels.

Grayson is in his early 40s with two grown sons when he finds himself living at the ranch and joining Lidon’s pack. As a storyteller and an author of fiction based on the legends of old, Grayson is very knowledgeable about their history as wolfshifters. He is a strong alpha with a maturity and levelheadedness that two young boys desperately need, even though one would deny that to his dying day. At first.

Sven is Enar’s much younger adopted omega brother who carries the Melloni gene. Once Enar realizes that, he has Sven and Lars, his biological beta brother, move to the ranch. Sven is more than happy to be away from Enar’s dad as the man has attempted to rape him more than once based on his overwhelming omega scent and Sven is terrified of experiencing his first heat. Sven is sweet, very similar to Vieno in many ways, and totally in love with Lars.

Lars is a bundle of contradictions, anger, and brattiness. He has spent his entire life building up a wall against anyone because of the torment and constant criticism he has faced from his father. He is beyond angry at Enar for what he views as “leaving them” and his first days on the ranch are not easy as Lars’s mouth has a tendency to get away from him. It takes him a while to realize that what he wants from Grayson isn’t wrong and that trusting this alpha is going to give him, and Sven, everything they were looking for.

I’ll admit to a wee bit of consternation at the idea of this third book focusing on a new polyamorous grouping versus the original main characters of Lidon, Enar, Palani, and Vieno. So much of what continues to keep me fascinated with these stories is the investigation and discovery that Palani, especially, has dug up regarding the Melloni gene, the infertility treatments given to omega women causing them all to produce omega males with the gene, and the political ramifications of the current election. There are two dominant parties, the CWP and the AWC – Conservative Wolf Party and Anti-Wolf Coalition, respectively – and Palani has been stunned at the amount of support the CWP has garnered considering its radical conservative beliefs about returning to the old ways and wolfshifters. I was amused more than once at the author’s obvious use of current headlines and theories for what is happening in my own country, as a play for what occurrs in this fictional world. My concerns were dashed rather quickly, however, when I continued to get facetime, so to speak, with the four original men and the hullabaloo they are all ensnared in.

Another fantastic addition to the series! I fell completely in love with Grayson and Sven. Lars took a little longer but by the end I adored him just as much. I can’t say much about the ending except I loved, loved, loved it and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for me in the next book!
