He is given a powerful reminder when an accident on the space station where they live and work leaves Juan temporarily helpless. Victor steps in, becoming Juan’s hero in some very unexpected ways.

Book Review

"Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of the…" Wait. Back up. Wrong. Yes, Juan and Victor are in space, but it's not fiction, it's their life. It is the twenty-second century and a research facility exists between the Earth and the Moon. Mainly to manufacture, test, and release high powered telescopes out to far reaching areas of the galaxy. Man has conquered the Moon and people live there, although mostly they are scientists and research specialists.

Victor has a PhD in engineering and designs all of Juan's telescopes for his research. Now, if you've ever spent any time around engineers you might know that they tend to be fairly black and white. Not many shades of gray in their world. Hence most people view him as cold and distant. Only his life partner, Juan, who has a PhD in astronomy, sees the gentle and caring man Victor truly is. When Juan injures his back helping to repair a telescope and is laid up for weeks, he's reminded again of all Victor's wonderful qualities. And, Victor is reminded of all of the reasons he's so madly in love with Juan.

A delightful and exciting short story, 'Always Plan Ahead' by Elizabeth Noble is a reminder to never take anything, or anyone, for granted. Thank you, Elizabeth.
