BOOK BLURB:
When shapeshifters mix it up with threesomes, you can be sure that sparks are going to fly. That's the idea behind Shifting Them, a collection of menage shapeshifter stories that mix the boys with the boys with the girls, from big cats to wolves and beyond.
From the glamorous world of modern-day magicians to a futuristic universe filled with danger, the stories in Shifting Them will sweep you away into a whole new universe, where wolves scrabble about on city streets, where snake shifters plot from their nests, where a seemingly innocuous dog helps to make sparks fly between humans. Whether it's fur or fangs, these very human creatures have a wild side, one that excites and amazes.
Mix the shifters' inherent sexiness with a threesome, and you've got a volatile, romantic combination. With stories from C.C. Bridges, Anah Crow, Dianne Fox, Kiernan Kelly, J Rocci, and BA Tortuga, the raw, animal magnetism of Shifting Them proves that adding a third person ~ in life and in bed ~ can make for a happy, and hot, ending.
BOOK REVIEW:
The book gets off to a great start with “Magic and Mimicry” by Kiernan Kelly. Magicians Brody and Jester pull off fabulous illusions (as long as no one realizes that Jester can shift into any shape he wants). Mated and happy, life is going well for the two men until lovely Brooklyn comes along and Jester's hormones go into overdrive. Can he have more than one 'one and only'?
In “The Partisans” by Anah Crow, Laniger, Rio and Selen were lovers in prison. Now that Laniger is free and Rio is dead, it only remains to rescue Selen. Partnered with Rio's daughter Rira, Laniger sets out with the woman he loves to rescue the man he loves as well.
“Snake Charmer” by Dianne Fox is an unexpected jewel in this collection, a complex, tightly woven tale set in a world where groups of like shifters are the norm. Surprisingly, a group of three diverse shifters find love despite their differences.
A very different view of shifters is seen in “The Home You Make” by J. Rocci. Gareth and Callie rescued Zev and the three of them form a very different sort of Pack. Sometimes love makes us willing to live outside the norm.
In “Sleeping Dogs” by C.C. Bridges, when Libby falls in love with a stray dog and his master, there's more to the situation than meets the eye.
And last, BA Tortuga introduces us to two tomcats who can't be tied down to one woman in “Home and Kittens.” Or can they?
I highly advise that you pique your inner fantasies with this great anthology that combines sexy threesomes with shapeshifters. Vincent Diamond did a great job selecting and editing these six stories, each one better than the one before. Many times an anthology isn't even in quality amongst the stories, but that's not so with Shifting Them. All six tales are strong entries based in diversely populated worlds. Don't judge this book by its rather horrid cover, because within lie six very different, very interesting, very well-written stories.
