BOOK BLURB:
The Renovations boys, Toby and Ven, are taking a break from their business to celebrate the Christmas season. When Toby's children come to stay with them on the days before Christmas, the boys have to work on building a family instead of just building houses.

It takes more than just fixing up a bedroom and building a playhouse, especially when Josie and Charlotte have to cope with the reality that Daddy really isn't ever coming back home to their house. Will Ven and Toby be able to convince them that this is their family, too?

BOOK REVIEW:
Toby and Ven are on vacation from work to celebrate the Christmas holiday. Ven has moved into the Cinderella house with Toby, moving his parents into his old house. Since his divorce from Brenda, Toby hasn’t been able to really spend the holidays with his children as he was living out of hotels but now he has a real home for them to visit. Both Toby and Ven have been busy getting things ready for Josie and Charlotte to visit and hopefully have a great Christmas with their Dad. Along the way there are laughs and tears, while the men focus on building their new family.

In a Family Way is a new story in the Renovations series that is a bit different from the rest. Instead of focusing on rebuilding houses, here Toby and Ven are rebuilding a family, with a few new additions. I loved the chance to finally see Toby with his children and had no doubt that Ven would be exceptional with them. This is a thoroughly heartwarming tale, one that I enjoyed from beginning to end.

The children, Josie and Charlotte, are very well drawn, and the emotions they deal with regarding their parents, and Toby’s new life, are real and moving. As much as the girls want to like Ven, and his dogs, they see him as the obstacle keeping Toby from coming home again. This story really focuses on how Toby and Ven help the girls to deal with their feelings, and how Ven embraces them and the family that they have built. It is an enchanting story and an exceptional addition to a wonderful series.
