BOOK BLURB:
Flip a fable on its end and what do you get? Heat, wicked humor, and a great romance. Flipped Fables is all about taking the tiny morality plays of childhood and turning them into something more, something that speaks to us about life and love and some good, hot need.
BOOK REVIEW:
Fable: a short tale to teach a moral lesson, often with animals or inanimate objects as characters
By its very nature a fable is hard to review. It is a short tale, with a simple message that historically is used to teach a moral lesson to the reader. About a decade ago there was a renewed interest in the retelling of classic fables into more modern settings with numerous subsets to reflect a more tolerant and diverse culture. There were stories for gay men and women, the “Modern” woman, nerds and many others. I read the stories for gay men at the time and thought they were cute; just as this collection is also cute even though it is an erotic version.
All of the stories were pleasant and easy reads; I enjoyed this collection and feel that many readers will also.
Do I recommend this collection as a “must read”, no, but it is a pleasant diversion and if you think it will appeal to you please support the authors who are writing in the genre we all enjoy and pick up a copy.
