Ever wonder what it's like to use a sling? Love the idea of weightlessness? Well, welcome to the Slings Toy Box! In The Boy's Decision by C.B. Potts, Bobby is Richard's sub, and he loves his master very much. The problem is that Richard's former sub Rory keeps interrupting their lives, trying to get back with Richard. Will Bobby solve the problem when Richard lets him run the show one night?
In Two Months' Pay by Sarah Colter, Jesse and Callum are sometime wrestlers with Cross Wrestling. When Jesse spends two months' pay on a new toy, Callum thinks Jesse has lost his mind. Jesse suggests that Nathan and Javier join them, but will four wrestlers and a sling add up to an evening of mind-blowing fun?
Finally, in Support System by Anah Crow and Dianne Fox, Denny's a race car driver who's been in a terrible accident. He's feeling down, and it doesn't help that his lover Sully is still on the road. When Sully shows up during a break, he tries to make things easier for Denny, whose leg is still a mess. Sully comes up with a plan, but will Denny be willing to try? See what boys with slings get up to today!
BOOK REVIEW:
I'm a big fan of Torquere Press' Toy Box series because it pays tribute to some of our favorite sex accessories. I'm happy to report that the latest entry on slings does the versatile sex harness justice.
C.B. Pott's story, "The Boy's Decision," drops the reader in the middle of a serious mental health crisis. Richard is torn over what to do about his former lover, Rory, who goes off his meds and tries to win Richard back. Richard's new lover and sub, Bobby, sees the toll Rory's shenanigans take on his master and decides to take matters into his own hands, quite literally. This story blends pathos and eroticism in ways I've never encountered before in gay erotic fiction.
"Two Months’ Pay" by Sarah Colter is a more light-hearted tale about what can happen when a thoroughly bored Jesse gets it into his head to try something new to please his lover Callum. Not only do you get hot sling action, but you get two couples for the price of one.
The series ends with an exquisite story of devotion by Anah Crow & Dianne Fox. "Support System" is very moving in the way it portrays Denny and Sully, two men very much in love but one hurting physically and the other mentally. Denny's helplessness is painful to witness, and Sully is a knight in shining armor who won't take no for an answer when it comes to giving Denny what he needs.
What I liked about this collection is the way in which slings are used in non-sexual ways. Don't get me wrong, there's lots of eroticism and hot sling sex in these shorts, but slings also become metaphors for the ways in which care-taking partners demonstrate love, care, affection and devotion. These stories opened my eyes to how an object so decidedly and wickedly sexual can also be used to show the softer side of man-love. I highly recommend this fine addition to the Toy Box collection.
