BOOK BLURB:
Daddy lovers rejoice! Author C.B. Potts has devoted an entire collection to that rough and hunky older man who has earned his place in the long history of gay erotica. Whether he has hair gun-metal gray or lustrous white, the daddy possesses a charisma that drives younger men wild. Who else offers an embrace that promises to keep you warm, safe, and snug? Potts offers readers stirring stories featuring bikers, grease monkeys, soldiers, and even an alderman ~ all mature men more than willing to provide some much-needed experience to the young fellows who drop to their knees to idolize what the silver fox has learned over the years.
BOOK REVIEW:
Using an impressive variety of narrative styles, plot settings, and time periods, C.B. Potts has demonstrated that many a good tune can be played on an old fiddle. Whether it’s rounding up cattle on a dude ranch or lying in bed listening to one's daddy lull us to sleep, we get to appreciate that older men are also wiser, and desirable.
“Goodnight Daddy” sees Scott alone in a far away hotel calling Brady, his daddy, because he can’t sleep. The set up for the phone sex was great. I could so easily picture the scene. It was obvious these men loved one another and were anxious to be together again in person.
“Where the Buffalo Roam” was my favourite story in this collection. Clint, the big alpha-type leader on a dude ranch, certainly manages to round up Mark, a guy pretty new to the saddle. When they make love under the stars, Mark is so mesmerized ~ “Every scorpion in the world could have been directly in front of me, marching in formation and singing show tunes, and I wouldn’t have noticed.” I laughed out loud at this. And best of all, the story has the hope of a happy-ever-after ending.
In “Rough Road,” the narrator is pushing thirty but looks much younger. He enjoys hitching rides with truckers and having rough sex with them. This hot story is about one of his “rides.” The element of danger was great, not knowing if the narrator had miscalculated and gotten himself into something out of his control.
“Ringside” pits Francis “The Champ” against his older, recovering alcoholic, coach who is in a fight to regain the trust his fighter had in him. I admire Ms. Potts' ability to weave quite a complex plot into such a short space. It had drama, pathos, and passion. I liked both men a great deal. Of all the stories in this collection, I wish this could have been made into a full-length novel.
Mike Butchers and Jacob Eaber star in “Mountain Music.” The former is a young bluegrass musician; the latter, an older record company R&R man who is taken by Mike’s musical abilities, among other talents. Things really got interesting when they retired to Mike’s trailer and made music together.
The above are just some of the delights found in this impressive volume. Arousing, touching, humorous ... they’re all here. If you like reading about younger men being taught a thing or two by the older generation, then pick yourself up a copy of this book.
