Nine short stories plus two novellas comprise this new collection of Gay-hero stories, ranging from epic fantasy to science fiction and futuristic. Readers will be riveted by these strong-minded protagonists who put a new spin on traditional fantasy and futuristic genres.
It's difficult to choose favorites, but my personal choices would have to be Steven Adamson's "Monument," a touching, heartwarming reminder of adolescence intertwined with the blinding hope of true romance; Lawrence Schimel's "Fag Hag," a fantasy of a witch who never trusts; Mark Allen Gunnells' delicious haunted house-ghostly twist, "The Lost Gentleman"; Tenea D. Johnson's "Release in A Minor," a story which reawakens all those wonderful old Delta Blues legends; and Astrid Amara's "Lord Ronan's Shoes," where love conquers all eventually. Hope and belief in one's own heart and sexual identity shine through this collection, encouraging, scintillating, and drawing forth readers' ecstatic responses.
