BOOK REVIEW:
Gay, but very in the closet, LAPD Homicide Detective David Laine is investigating the case of a serial killer labeled “The Carpet Killer” by the media. When Christopher Bellamere’s car is vandalized and the words spray painted on it are suspicious, David is brought in to investigate. Is Chris a possible suspect or a potential victim? And what will David do about his attraction to Chris?
Falling for a guy who’s way out of the closet when you’re way inside it isn’t a good idea. An even worse one is falling for a guy who is a murder suspect in a case you’re the lead detective for. Unfortunately, this is what David is up against in L.A. Heat. His strong attraction for Chris competes with his need to keep his sexual preferences a secret.
Chris is basically the opposite of David. He’s rich, gorgeous, and carefree, until his life and the lives of his friends are threatened by a crazed killer. Lots of suspense, an angst-filled romance, and a twist at the end, make L.A. Heat an exciting story. It’s the prequel to L.A. Mischief, and a well-developed story that marks the beginning of this series.
