BOOK BLURB:
Jud Hess has loved Derek Gentry since they were children. When they became lovers in college, he thought they were destined to be together forever. All that changed with Derek’s tragic death only four years later, on Christmas Day.

Now, more than a decade after that horrible event, Jud clings to a promise he made the night before Derek died. He vowed that he would never, ever, be with another man. And he’s clung to that vow with every bit of what’s left of his heart.

But Derek’s death brought an unlikely gift. After his lover died, Jud began to see spirits. And although ghosts have become his constant companions, the one spirit he longs to see only appears to him at Christmas. Or at least, he used to.

This year, Derek doesn’t come. But someone else does; a man who brings with him the kind of erotic temptation and a need of his own that Jud is helpless to resist.

To end a decade of loneliness, Jud will have to give in to the sultry seduction of a stranger ... and betray the spirit of the man who should have been the love of his life.

BOOK REVIEW:
Jud and Derek are old best friends turned lovers, and together the two of them are embarking on an exciting and happy new chapter of their life together in a new apartment. Domestic Tranquility (with a healthy dose of love making) is the name of the game, and everything seems just about right for the happy couple. Right, that is, until Derek's untimely and tragic death sends Jud into an abyss he can't seem to climb out of.

Ten years after Derek's death, Jud is hardly eking out a living. He's living alone above a Church, and helping the LVPD solve crimes as a Spiritual Medium (a "gift" he received upon Derek's death). A Priest and an odd gaggle of ghosts are his only company most days, except on Christmas, when Derek is allowed to pass through the veil between the worlds, and visit him. These yearly visits keep Jud moving forward in his otherwise void and drab existence.

Enter Ty, your hunk next door, with a slightly embarrassing and pressing problem that only Jud's special gift can help him with. Instantly taken with each other, they soon realize they want much more than a professional working relationship, but will Jud be able to let go of Derek and the tragedies of the past, and move on to Ty who is obviously his future? Then there's that pesky little promise of celibacy that Derek extracted from Jud, and Jud is very loathe to break such a promise (and Ty is all too willing, it seems, to help him break it). Will Derek be able to realize his own shortcomings, act unselfishly, and make things right for all three of them?

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes gay erotic paranormal stories. It is an easy, very steamy, and enjoyable read with a good message of love, loss, and moving on, and identifiable, likable, characters.
