BOOK BLURB:
When the call comes in the middle of the night ~ disturbing what had been a hot, sticky dream ~ Chris's troubles should have been over. The bad guy who was responsible for a series of late night attacks is dead, the waiter a hero. Everything should have been over except for the paperwork. But the young waiter, Gregory, is the one who's been making Chris's dreams very hot and sticky. Gregory is on the run from a hypocritical television evangelist who removes the will of people and turns them into mindless slaves. He wants Gregory back ~ and he's only getting stronger.
BOOK REVIEW:
This story got me from Page One ~ its intensity grabbed me immediately and hardly ever let me go. That's not to say I understood all of it ~ the relationship between the two main protagonists, Chris and Gregory, I found confusing and a little disturbing, but that didn't want me to stop reading. In fact, I was eager to find out just how they would manage to extricate themselves from the near impossible situations they find themselves in.
The villain, a pseudo-evangelist named Brantley Jones has the ability to play mind games with his victims to such a degree that he can even 'split' a person, separating his physical being from his soul and masquerading as that person, making him the suspect in vile crimes.
Gregory, his one time boy toy, has escaped Brantley's clutches and finds himself relying on Chris, a young detective, with a secret. He has dreamed of Gregory for a long time ~ strangely dark and dangerous erotic dreams. Chris also has a history with Brantley dating back to when when they were both teenagers.
Add to this already explosive mix, a couple of ghosts, the current boy toy who is gaining paranormal powers, and a homophobic cop under Brantley's spell, and you have a recipe for a compelling story of men fighting to free themselves from a twisted maniac's evil designs.
Gripping stuff, and kudos to the author Angela Fiddler who certainly knows how to keep you involved from start to finish. Highly recommended.
