BOOK BLURB:
Jack Stevenson caught his lover in bed with another man, and now he's lost his job. He’s got nothing to lose ... maybe that’s why Jack put his name into the lottery. The prize is out of this world!

BOOK REVIEW:
I was instantly drawn to Jack, as I’m sure the author intended. He was wronged by his cheating boyfriend. “Jack had watched them scramble, trying to cover themselves. As if two hundred thread count sheets could veil the lies each had been telling.” Wow ~ what a perfect, concise word picture.

I was able to accept to some extent why Jack agreed to blind-wed (if such a term exists) because he had nothing worth staying on Earth for. The story, being so short, didn’t allow for much world-building of Jack’s new environment. One minute he was watching TV, the next he was waking up on an alien planet. The shift was sudden to say the least. Maybe this was deliberate to try to convey to the reader the newness of Jack’s environment.

The ending is curious, abrupt and, I have to say, unsatisfying. Did the author run out of space or time? This isn’t a romance, but then wasn’t billed as such.
