BOOK BLURB:
What do you get the man that has everything? Marc D’Angelo knows exactly what his rich and famous lover needs: a chance to get away from it all, a chance to be a normal couple and enjoy being in love. All that remains is to see how Oliver Carrington reacts to his anniversary gift.
BOOK REVIEW:
Oliver Carrington is a very busy man, dealing with pressures from work as well as his overbearing family. He works extremely hard and is under constant scrutiny. His only escape from these demands is his lover Marc D’Angelo. When they are together, Oliver is able to truly relax, to be himself instead of maintaining the image that is offered to the outside world. He is able to shed his work persona, everything from clothes and worries to his proper attitude, when he comes home to Marc.
Marc takes his role as Oliver’s protector and bodyguard very seriously. He sees how hard Oliver pushes himself, to the point of utter exhaustion, as his life continues to pass him by. Marc knows that something needs to change, both for Oliver’s sake as well as his own. Marc devises a plan to get Oliver the perfect gift, total anonymity for a day. His hair is dyed to mask his stunning appearance, his employees are tasked with handling all work concerns for the day, the clock is hidden and his cell phone is turned off. For the span of a single day, Oliver will simply be Ollie, Marc’s lover and partner.
The simplicity of the day that Oliver and Marc spend together is testament to their deep love. It is not so important what they do, as long as they are doing it together. The most important thing for them is rediscovering the joy of spending time together. Oliver begins to understand what he has been missing out on, and realizes that changes can be made for the better.
Time Out is a charming story about the importance of focusing on what is truly important in life. Starting with a strong friendship, these two men have developed an intense love and closeness in their relationship. Their paring is both sensual and sweetly romantic. They both have external demands in their day to day lives but the most important thing is their partnership. Although there are passionate love scenes, the real gem of this story is that it focuses on the emotional connection between the men. With well developed characters and an interesting storyline, this is definitely a recommended read!
