BOOK BLURB:
Three years have passed since Jory Keyes was kidnapped, shot, and left by his lover, Detective Sam Kage. Jory walked through fire and came out the other side stronger. He changed his name to Harcourt and shut the door forever on a past full of pain. Jory now owns his own business, and has a life he enjoys. What he doesn’t have is love. He’s been unable to make that deep connection with another man, the kind of connection he’s only had with Sam. When a chance encounter brings Sam back into his life, Jory doesn’t know what to do. But for Sam there’s no hesitation. He wants Jory back and this time he wants him for keeps. When Sam is called away to a crime scene in the middle of the night, Jory realizes that his fear has nothing to do with being emotionally vulnerable. Why, he wonders, is he so damned uneasy?

BOOK REVIEW:
When Mary Calmes' A Matter of Time Book 3 showed up in my email inbox the other day I had to do a mental happy dance. This series has grabbed me from the first and book three is just as good as the previous two. When this story opens, Jory is once again in hot water and this time it looks grim. Then the story changes and I admit I was a little worried. Would I like these changes? What is the author doing to a couple that I have come to root so hard for? Is this going to be like one of those movies your dying to see only to have the ending suck? Yet, as I continued to read I began to realize that the author really could not have done anything different. By changing up the story the way she has, the author has given both Jory and Sam the time to grow. While this new maturity means that Sam now knows that he needs Jory in his life regardless of what others may think, it also means that Jory is not as likely to fall into Sam's hands as easily as he once did. Of course many of the secondary characters are back, some of whom have had big changes occur in their lives. We also meet a few new characters, and like the previous secondary characters, they add a rich layer to the story. As this installment drew to a close I, like Jory, began to wonder what could possibly happen next. This series really should not be missed so if you have not yet picked it up do so now.
