BOOK REVIEW:
Striking Sparks is another short stunner from an author whose talent I’ve learned to admire. This story is scorching and will enflame all readers who love steaming Gay contemporary fiction. A no-holds-barred approach to ‘getting down and dirty,’ Striking Sparks as two protagonists coming to terms with their inner truths.
Andrew is twenty-three, engaged, soon-to-be-wed, with freezing feet. He drives from the suburbs into the city to seek out a palm reader, only to find due to parking problems he’s missed her entirely. As luck would have it he encounters another shopkeeper in the building who runs a botanica.
Crash is every boy’s “bad-boy” dream and he knows it. Oddly enough, virginal fresh Andrew is Crash’s dream come true. Still seeking a “reading,” Andrew instead gets read-and how.
Part of the “PsyCop storyverse,” Striking Sparks stands just fine on its own merits and is a wonderful introduction to an author who can ignite the pages-and the reader-Jordan Castillo Price. Striking Sparks is a must-read for Gay fiction fans who like “a walk on the wild side.”
