BOOK REVIEW:
"The Witch’s Boy" by Alex Beecroft is a Action packed fantasy set is a world not unlike the time of knights and dragons.
Oswy can’t believe his family would just sell him, even though they believe all their bad luck is his fault. It’s not like he enjoys being different, but to sell him to the witch lord Sulien is too much. Oswy arrives at his new home to find many things, some strange while others comforting. While people at the castle are kind, his lord Sulien has peculiar mood swings that intrigue and scare Oswy at the same time. Things at the castle are not always what they seem as Oswy learns about his magical abilities that will lead him and Sulien into a danger Oswy could never imagine as Sulien’s old master returns from the grave to take back what was once his.
At the same time, Adela’s life in the care of the Sisters is about the change. An evil man Adam de Limoges is determined to take her as his own with no thought of Adela’s feelings. Adela has to fight for herself and her younger brother as Adam uses his abilities as a witch to bend others to his will. Adela finds herself on the run alone when she finds help and maybe a home with a people that she never truly believed existed. How will Adela, Sulien and Oswy overcome the evil that threatens their very lives?
Ms. Beecroft has fashioned an incredible saga that incorporates action, adventure, and passion with mythical beings in a time where magic still had it’s hold on the world. Oswy appears to be an average young boy, but when put to the test he will protect the people he holds dear. Sulien at first glance appears to be the fearsome witch that he is known for, but underneath he has many obstacles in the past that molded him into the man he is today. Adela is determined to find her own path in a world where women are hidden away with little to no rights. If you like a book that will hold you spellbound from the start with magical creatures and characters with compelling personalities that ensnare your emotions, then this is the book for you.
