BOOK BLURB:
Police Officer James Everson seems to go from one guy to another, never finding exactly what he wants. Frustrated and out of sorts he goes to a local gay bar in the hopes of finding a guy and burning off some steam. What he finds is Sammy.

Samuel Dane Summers is a confirmed geek. He has all the classic symptoms, glasses, baggy slacks, white button down shirts. He’s a vegetarian. He forgets everything from paying his bills to locking his doors. Sammy needs a keeper. The one good thing he does is write erotic gay romance novels. When these two meet, the fireworks explode. Sammy rocks James’s world, giving him the best sexual experience of his life. When it’s over, Sammy disappears.

James is devastated. He becomes obsessed with finding Sammy again. But an obsessed fan also wants to get his hands on Sammy, believing the books Sammy writes is their love story and he’s not above taking James out of the picture to do it. Can James save his sexy little writer before it's too late or will he lose him forever?

BOOK REVIEW:
James was what I expected, big, strong protective ~ somewhat dominant ~ cop. Sammy/Dane, on the other hand, was a wonderful surprise. Like the blurb says, Sammy is a geek, although I saw no evidence of pocket protectors. 'No one wanted a mouse for a mate. Besides, Sammy was a total fuck up in his real life.' But when Sammy assumes the role of Dane, we're talking major personality change. He's confident, cocky and dominant in the bedroom. Watching the normally alpha James bow to the alpha-plus Dane was great fun, and the sex was scorching, as well as kinky.

But Dane doesn't exist outside of the bedroom. I ached for Sammy as he realised James wouldn't want the real him. Out came the self-pity and low self-esteem Sammy. But this was when James stepped up to the plate and showed his true colours. But of course the two men were far from out of the woods. James had a job on his hands convincing the shy, self-doubting Sammy that he wanted him.

Alas, the character of Frank, the creepy stalker, wasn't terribly believable. He just didn't manage to pull off the role convincingly. I pitied more than feared him. Though James' dismissal of him was rather satisfying.

Nicky and Troy were a lot of fun. Troy was Sammy's brother, Nicky was James brother. This established gay couple's previously disastrous attempts to get Sammy hooked up with someone was hilarious. James suffered a similar fate. It was a little hard to understand, given the sibling thing, why Sammy and James hadn’t previously met.

Ms. Glenn has a particularly individual style to her writing. Soft focus romances with accompanying violins forming the backdrop for a big macho man to find his submissive geeky lover. Such an approach will not be to everyone’s taste. However, Ms. Glenn fans will most certainly find Sammy Dane to be a most satisfying addition to their library.
