BOOK BLURB:
Greg Taylor lost his first job after law school because he wouldn’t dump his lover Paolo to please a homophobic senior partner. Now he has another prospect, Danny O’Riordan, a local celebrity who needs an exclusive personal attorney. It could be his dream job, but O’Riordan might be even more homophobic than his first employer.
Greg has to make a choice ~ be open about what he is and hope that it doesn’t cost him the job, or follow conventional wisdom and stay in the closet. It may change the whole direction of his career, and he has nothing to guide him but instinct and hope. If he opens up, it’s a leap in the dark, a blind leap of faith. Can he trust a man he hardly knows?
BOOK REVIEW:
Greg Taylor can't believe that all his present problems stem from his sexual preferences. After Greg graduated from Harvard Law School, he obtained a job at a well-known Boston law firm, but at his evaluation he was told that he didn't fit in with the firm's culture. Unofficially, he was told he could keep his job if he moved and broke up with his lover Paolo.
Greg and Paolo are in a committed relationship and are not completely out to make it easier for Greg's work. Now, not only did he loose his job, but someone at the firm has blacklisted him to all the law firms in the city. Tina at the Harvard Career Office is helping Greg look for work, but things look bleak. Tina calls Greg to tell him the individual from the retainer job wants to meet with him and the man is Danny O'Riordan, the superhero. Greg is very nervous about his pending interview, especially after he learns a few things about O'Riordan's family from his father, a police officer. Paolo decides the best way to calm his nerves is a little BSDM play time where Greg looses himself to his submissive needs. Will Greg find a job that won't put a crimp in their relationship?
Ms. Scannell has written an interesting and unique story with a superhuman flare. The relationship between Greg and Paolo is unexpected, but very loving as the reader delves into their lives as master and slave. The unforeseen problems regarding Danny O'Riordan's family and personal background cause Greg many moments of stress which Paolo is more than willing to help him work through. I loved how Greg and Paolo's love permeates all the aspects of their lives.
