BOOK BLURB:
Hayden is a big time chef who wants to come home to his small town and open a restaurant. He's excited, because he's had an on again, off again relationship with town Sheriff Cal, and he thinks they can become a real couple.

Cal doesn't seem to agree, worried that coming out will ruin his life, so he tells Hayden to hit the road. Hayden tries to get on with his life by returning to the city, with disastrous results. Can Cal put aside his fears and take Hayden back?

BOOK REVIEW:
Sheriff Cal Hunter is wet dream material for every gay man with a uniform fetish. Strong, handsome, and protective. Oh, and he likes dogs, too.

Hayden’s pain at being told Cal doesn’t want a relationship was exquisitely well described. I empathized so much with Hayden, but I couldn’t blame Cal. No, not because he’s a sexy as sin sheriff, but because Cal never promised Hayden forever. We learn later that the big lawman had his reasons for needing to stay under the radar. So my sympathies were with both men as they hurt for themselves, and their lost relationship.

The real star of the show however, was Bo, Cal’s dog. He had a great personality. Even though he couldn’t talk, he was able to make his feelings about what he wanted very clear.

Cal’s wake-up call wasn’t exactly original, but I enjoyed seeing how everything played out, and how he came to realize how important Hayden was to him. Well done, Ms. Ryan for penning another winner.
