BOOK BLURB:
Operation Danny ... that’s all bartender and recent college graduate, Julian Hallowell has had on his mind the past year. Julian may have no idea what he wants to do with his life, but he definitely knows he‘s in love with the boy next door: the next door down the hall to be exact, housing his roommate and used textbook store owner Danny Wallace.

While Julian has done his level best to make Danny fall for him, all his hard work has been in vain. Danny doesn’t seem to view Julian as anything other than a roommate and friend. So when new guy in town Andy Baker asks him out on a date, Julian can’t think of a good reason to say no.

Instead, he institutes a Reverse Operation Danny plan, which he’s positive will purge all thoughts of love and lust for his roomie out of his head. He’s ready to move on and start looking for his next Mr. Right, and Andy just might fit the bill. But has he given up too soon?

BOOK REVIEW:
Julian Hallowell has been in love with his roommate, Danny Wallace, for a year now. After trying to attract Danny's attention and going through the pain of watching him bring other men home, Julian has decided it's time to forget Danny and move on with his life.

Told in Julian's first person POV, this is a fabulously entertaining story. Julian is sweet and funny and had me totally hooked throughout the story. No matter who he's with or what the situation is, Julian's unique view of life makes for some memorable reading. From page one I was falling in love with him myself.

Although Julian is my favorite character, I really enjoyed them all. While we don't get as in depth with Danny, as the story is all in Julian's POV, he still comes across as a really nice guy. He's true to himself and upfront about what kind of person he is and it was really nice to see as he slowly begins to realize how he truly feels for Julian. The secondary characters are also well developed, believable and likable and Julian's interactions with them feel real and normal. His lunch dates with his best friend Gabby also bring a lot of fun and humor into the story.

The plot of the story is simple but never boring. As Julian strives to put Danny out of his heart so he can find someone that will love him, we are treated to little vignettes of Julian and Danny's past that help show just how right they really are for each other.

Overall, this is a really enjoyable book. Ethan Day has a wonderful writing style, full of humor and emotion and his characters, normal everyday people with needs, flaws, hopes and dreams all combine to make this a highly entertaining story. Great characters, lots of witty dialogue, romance and just a touch of angst create a book that I will happily reread in the future. This is the first story I've read by this author and I was so taken with his style I went and bought his other two books.

I highly recommend this romantic, sexy, fun-filled story to everyone. Read it for yourself but be prepared to be totally captivated by Julian and Danny. You just may find yourself unable to put this book down until you've finished, it's just that good.
