BOOK BLURB:
Jonas Vaneau's life seems ordinary, with days working at law courts and evenings at home with his cat, plus countless Sabbath dinners with his parents and an endless string of potential brides. Meanwhile, an unusual encounter with seemingly ordinary brothel client Jonas causes Micah Hartshorn considerable consternation. When Jonas inexplicably bursts past his emotional defenses, Micah can't even fall back on his professional skills to help him.
The attraction between Micah and Jonas grows, despite their misgivings. As they grow closer, all personal problems are swept up in political unrest when new laws threaten both men's livelihoods. When even greater troubles send Jonas' world spinning beyond his control, it's up to Micah to save Jonas from the downward spiral if he can.
BOOK REVIEW:
Client Privileges is an intriguing story full of interesting characters. The main characters, Micah and Jonas, are not only strong as individuals but also as a couple. Micah, a legal sex worker with an adoptive daughter, struggles to make ends meet. While Jonas, a judicial clerk, struggles to come to terms with who he is, wondering if he will ever be able to please his parent. The feelings between these two are evident from the very beginning and as the author weaves a tale of political strife and prejudice around them, we are able to see how they grow, especially Jonas. The secondary characters are equally strong and help move the story along.
The events that occur within this story, whether surrounding religious differences or the hatred over someone's sexual orientation, echo what we see and hear on the television today. As new laws are being passed, these issues soon make it to the forefront of the story and affect the men's relationship in ways they never expected.
Many readers are sure to enjoy this interesting story, one I am sure will make it to many keeper shelves.
