BOOK BLURB:
Denny and Sully from the Pit Road series are back, and Denny is having some problems with homework and his lack of a job and with his role in his life with Sully. Denny's not sure what to do, but Sully knows just what they need. Sully knows the key to easing Denny's worries, and is more than happy to make Denny forget everything but him, including physics, at least for a little while.
BOOK REVIEW:
Denny wanting to throw a stone into the trees to shut the birds up ~ what a wonderful description of grumpiness. This contrasts beautifully with the earlier scene wherein Sully was happy because his boss had just given him good news.
I wanted to smack Denny upside the head for being a miserable bastard, for not recognizing that despite his issues, he has the most loyal partner a man could wish for in Sully. Then I wanted to cuddle Denny, to reassure him that he’s safe and that nothing bad will happen, not while he has the most loyal partner a man could wish for in Sully. But I didn’t have to do either because said loyal partner performed each when appropriate. And when the above actions failed, Sully tied Denny up and loved him long and hard until he understood.
I wish we could get a longer story about Sully and Denny. While these shorts give us a tantalizing sip, I want to drink deep of these two complex men’s lives.
