BOOK BLURB:
Derek Rossi is used to being one of the best young lawyers in San Francisco ... until he loses a case to his legal rival, the sexy and irrepressible Sam Kimball. The passionate, two-month-long court battle has left Derek frustrated, angry, and ready to take it out on Sam. But when Sam surprises him with a kiss, Derek has absolutely no idea what to do. All he knows is his preoccupation with the other lawyer now includes more than wrangling in the courtroom with him.

The only problem is, Sam honors Derek’s request to leave him alone. Derek thought that was what he wanted.

But now, with memories of the kiss consuming him, Derek doesn’t know what he wants at all anymore.

BOOK REVIEW:
This book caught me from the very beginning as it opens with lawyer Derek Rossi brutally beating up an opposing lawyer ~ and we find out that he's working off his frustration in his office with his Nintendo Wii. Now there's an image!

Derek is one of the most brilliant upcoming lawyers in San Francisco, and he's just lost a big case in court to the frustratingly attractive ~ and equally brilliant ~ Sam Kimball. The rivalry between these two men has reached a boiling point. So imagine Derek's surprise when Sam shows up at his office making gestures of friendship. It's a little hard for him to switch gears from imagining pummeling the guy to actually going out with the guy. Derek didn't even think Sam knew he was gay. The situation deteriorates, and Sam tires desperate measures:

"The rest was lost in the clamp of a hand at the back of his neck and the seal of Sam’s mouth over his when he yanked Derek down. The thrust of his slightly bitter tongue past Derek’s lips demanded an equal response. The only problem was, Derek had none. To say he was taken aback was an understatement. He never would have considered Sam Kimball interested in anything but pissing him off as much as he possibly could. He’d excelled at it, after all. And he’d certainly never entertained the notion of bending Sam over the conference table and fucking him senseless so the courtroom might be a more congenial environment."

And that's just the beginning of the book! Derek and Sam are caught in a frustrating swirl of sexual attraction and professional competitiveness, and the very classy Vivien Dean's tightly written prose simply keeps you almost holding your breath from page to page. Derek and Sam are attractive, believable characters, and you will be not only very sorry when the story ends, but you will be thrilled to find out that this is the beginning of a series and there will be more Derek and Sam coming soon!

I highly recommend this book. Vivien Dean has written an exciting and explicit story that will capture and keep your attention.
