BOOK BLURB:
Black dragon Holden Antaeus isn't looking for a mate. His life is filled with family, work, and dating. Women adore him and he's never short of offers for sex, but a relationship isn't something he's interested in. When Holden's brother Sean hires a new executive for Antaeus International, Holden's whole world, and everything he's ever believed about himself, is blown to bits. Garret Renquist is a green dragon, intelligent, witty, bi-sexual, and hot for Holden. Despite the fact that Holden is positive he's heterosexual, the moment he meets Garret, something happens inside him. What follows is a journey through stereotypes and ingrained beliefs as Holden struggles with the fact that his destined mate is a man.
BOOK REVIEW:
This is the third book in a series but it is a stand-alone title. According to the dedication it is the first m/m book by this author. I am usually a little unsure about first m/m efforts for an author. In my experience they usually try too hard in their relationship so there is an overabundance of testosterone ... or they go in the other direction and one of the characters simply oozes estrogen out of their male body. Surprisingly this book did not do that.
This was a very good paranormal love story in the gay-for-you plot family. Not terribly unique in all its points but enough so that it didn’t feel tired and certainly held my attention. As usual in gay-for-you plots, one main character is more experienced than the other and someone always says “I’m not gay” but, those two cliches aside, the blossoming relationship between the men was well written and interesting. There is a scene in their shifted form that was quite touching in a mostly non-sexual way. Their progressing sexual relationship is well written if a bit one sided for a little too long during the story.
To my disappointment, it looks like the next story in the series may turn this happy couple into a m/m/f menage. I was surprised when I hit the end of this e-book ~ this book is not as long as it appears.
