BOOK BLURB:
Facing life and death situations as cops shouldn't be easier than facing each other ... should it?
Will and Tyler lost each other after Anna's death, but they’re determined to save their friendship and partnership on the force after it’s over. Good thing they’re determined ~ it's going to take everything they've got as the pressure mounts and denial, anger and pain drives one of them to do something he’ll never forgive himself for. Luckily his best friend has enough forgiveness for both of them ~ at least until he disappears, leaving behind a grieving partner who’ll do absolutely anything to save him.
Will it be enough, or is everything they’ve been to each other lost forever?
BOOK REVIEW:
This story, the sequel to After Anna which I enjoyed very much, finds the two main characters, Detectives Will St. James and Tyler Neville still at odds with one another, but still trying to remain best friends, and partners at work.
Tyler is in love with Will, Will knows it, and cannot deny his sometimes overwhelming need to be with Tyler. Their period of separation they agreed upon is not working for either one of them, and Tyler is willing to let things be just as they were between them, something Will cannot understand or reconcile himself with. It seems that every time they are alone together their intentions to ignore their physical cravings go out the window, resulting in one more bout of fantastic sex. A situation that leaves Tyler frustrated and Will even more confused.
Things go crazy when the stepfather of a girl Will and Tyler had rescued from abduction starts stalking Will with the intention of doing him grievous bodily harm. When Will disappears, Tyler fears the worst and goes on a desperate search for the man he loves.
There's a lot of angst and drama in this story, but some lighter moments too ~ one quite hilarious episode where a drunken Tyler tries to give Will head when he's driving in heavy traffic. Ms. Black shows a real flair for comic writing in this part, and once again got my undivided attention as the two men share their hopes, doubts and fears as the story unfolds.
Sometimes sequels can be a bit of a let down, but I found this one to be even more gripping than the original story. Highly recommended!
