But Will doesn’t turn his back on him. In fact, Will might have some feelings of his own he’s kept hidden. The trouble is, Tyler’s kept more than one secret. He knows something about Anna’s death ~ something that could end their relationship for good.

BOOK REVIEW:
Will and Tyler are cops, best friends and partners on the job. Will has recently lost Anna, the woman he loved, and as the title implies, this story details the aftermath of her death.

Tyler is in love with Will, a fact that adds a strange dynamic to their friendship. Will is not unaware of Tyler's feelings, nor does he shy away from his friend's hands-on comforting. But when the intensity of their affection for one another morphs into full-blooded passion, Will cannot come to terms with what he feels. Tyler's frustration over the situation is compounded by the fact that he blames himself for Anna's death, something he had not shared with Will, fearing his friend would never forgive him if he found out.

"After Anna" is told in short, staccato-like chapters that lend an urgency and intensity to the story that is reflected in the actions and dialog. The author does an excellent job of getting into the main characters' psyches and giving them valid reasons for the way they feel and act.

When Tyler tells Will of his interaction with Anna there is no outburst of anger from Will, only stony silence. They continue to work together but the intimacy is gone from their relationship ~ until they try to find the way back to forgiveness and rebuild their friendship.

I enjoyed "After Anna" very much. The writing is taut and realistic, the heat generated between the two men is almost palpable at times, and you just hope that at some time in their lives they can find the happiness they crave together.
