BOOK BLURB:
On again, off again lovers Colin and Dennis know they are meant to be together, but the world is against them. Dennis, a healer, wants to avoid the paranormal even though he loves a talented psychic. But his psychic loves the chase and wants to save the world daily, and the strain on them is too great.
When fate brings them together again, they decide to give it another go. Lust and love are on their side, but evil strikes again. Against her will, Dennis's sister is turned into a werewolf and now they must face the paranormal truths, fears, lusts they have been hiding from. And hope love is enough to forge them into a team.
BOOK REVIEW:
Some paranormal erotica has a tone as light and fluffy as a buttered biscuit. Psychic Rebels is not one of these books. Psychic Rebels is more like a “Death by Chocolate” cake: dark, heavy, and multi-layered. The vampires and werewolves who populate this book are dangerous creatures, and the heroes, psychics and lovers Dennis and Colin, are in danger from them.
Dennis and Colin have a complicated relationship. They break up, make up, and break up again. Dennis was never as comfortable with the supernatural world as Colin, especially after a traumatic college experience with a vampire. At times, though, Colin and Dennis’s relationship is like a black-and-white cookie. Colin is the ebony chocolate, and Dennis is the ivory vanilla, combining to make a delectable treat, which Cheryl Dragon serves hot from the oven.
The sex in this novel is more sweet than adventurous; the author teases us with the promise of a roomful of exotic toys, but then never delivers on the promise. Despite the tease, though, there is plenty of heat between Colin and Dennis. The only other thing that could make Psychic Rebels more enjoyable would be if Cheryl Dragon wrote a sequel starring Sean, the “semi-domesticated” (think Edward Cullen) vampire.
