BOOK REVIEW:
When I first started this book and got done with the first story then started the second one and realized there were totally different characters, I wasn't sure I wanted to finish it. That all changed once I read the second story. All of the stories have one theme in common. Civil servant guys, whether it be a policeman or a fire ranger, they are all hot men.
It's hard to say which of the stories I liked best, but I think it would have to be the last one with Don and Vito called Fairgrounds. All of Buchanan's characters are very well defined and I felt as if I were there with all of them. I think the character of Vito was my favorite, the way he was described as the hairy Italian, a very forward sort of guy who knows what he wants and gets what he goes after. I loved the fact that on the exterior he's a gruff and rough guy but underneath it all he is a sweetheart. He keeps singing to the object of his affection in Italian. I could actually hear him singing the songs to Don.
Another story I liked was about Ricardo and Agustin, or Rick and Augi. Rick is a border agent in New Mexico and one night happens on some Coyote's. These are the guys that bring illegals over from Mexico though the desert into the US. One night he runs into his best friend's younger brother Augi whom he hasn't seen for quite a few years. He decides instead of taking Augi to jail he will let him stay with him. Unbeknownst to him, Augi has always thought of Rick as a hero and secretly had a thing for him. On the other hand, Rick now sees Augi as a handsome man instead of just a young annoying kid. Augi does have a secret that he eventually reveals to Rick that gives this story a nice twist.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it for anyone who is really into hunky cops.
