BOOK BLURB:
When Mark's PhD supervisor sent him for a job interview with an old university friend, he didn't mention that the friend was devastatingly handsome. He also neglected to mention to either that the other is gay.
Steven was just looking for a young scientist to train as a PA to help him run his technology company. No extra services required. But watching other people react to a young, pretty man playing secretary to an openly gay CEO amused them both. Watching people wonder if they were having an affair was an entertaining game.
But when the game became real and caught them both up, Mark was left wondering... how real? Because he's the one PA in the building who can't marry the boss.
BOOK REVIEW:
Mark Paulson is a young man working on his PhD in a company-sponsored internship. When his supervisor suggests he apply for another job he fears he’s being edged out of the company, but as it turns out, it's just the perfect job for him. An interview with the handsome Dr. Steven Frost makes the job very attractive, both professionally and personally. Taking the job is easy, but staying focused on his job as Steven’s PA is something else. Steven, a very successful businessman (lord and master of all he surveys, thus the title), is substantially older than Mark, so he tries to resist the temptation of an inter-office relationship. Mark doesn't want to mess up his employment, but Steven hits all his buttons. An instant attraction leads the men to an affair that stays in the office at first, but when taking the next step seems the obvious thing to do, secrets are revealed that could change the outcome of their relationship. Will Mark want Steven when he knows everything about him?
As the love shared by Steven and Mark grows and matures, their sexy office interludes are amazing. It gets even better when they actually have sex in a bed! This very hot tale is filled with sweetly intense moments that will keep you from putting the book down. Lord and Master really sizzles from the chemistry between Steven and Mark. Jules Jones, who is herself a scientist, cleverly brings these characters to life in a world of labs and reports and business. I especially liked that the characters were real: sometimes they didn't feel like sex, just wanted to cuddle. I really didn't want the book to be over, and I'm really glad there's a sequel!
If you like the exquisite art of Anne Cain, you'll want to frame the cover of the book. If you like hot m/m contemporary fiction, written in an intricately believable world, you'll want to read Lord and Master over and over.
