BOOK REVIEW:
This book is described as contemporary. I guess it is, but it has heavy leanings toward fantasy. It’s difficult to accept as real the idea of mer blood and a curse that kills the wives of the Lynch men, even prematurely ending the lives of said men once they have an adult male heir.

Such reservations aside, the author uses lush and vivid descriptions to set the scenes. I can almost taste the sea, feel its silent malevolence. The long pent up feelings Cooper and Ian have for each other are compelling. Their emotions are as powerful as the waves that break upon the jagged rocks of Mer Point.

This book will probably appeal most to those who enjoy their stories with added mysticism and a flavor of the unexplained. It ends without yielding many answers.
