BOOK BLURB:
Decades into the intergalactic Lindotian war, Commander Jeff Langley transports SpaceForce Marines to an isolated planet to put down a rebellion. When he joins the fight, one of his greatest fears comes true. Marine Colonel Rell ta Bakinee is mortally wounded before his eyes, and Jeff stands to lose more than his fellow officer and best friend ... he might lose the unacknowledged love of his life. Jeff races to save Rell's life despite the battle's devastation, because even if his love is never returned, the universe won't be worth saving without Rell beside him.

BOOK REVIEW:
Jeff Langley is a member of the Union of Planets and commander of the Churchill. Currently sent to aid the government of a neighboring planet who is experiencing a period of unrest Jeff is devastated when his friend Marine Colonel Rell ta Bakinee is seriously injured. Soon Jeff has to make decisions that should Rell survive might mean the end to their friendship, never mind the more personal relationship Jeff would like to have.

The majority of the interaction between Jeff and Rell is done in flashbacks, which in the beginning is a little confusing, but allows the reader to see the characters at their most vulnerable time, some thing that would not be possible during the present time due to the police conflict they happen to find themselves in. The author does such a good job putting the reader in the story that you cannot help but feel for Jeff as he struggles between his duty to the UP and is need to be with Rell. Jenna Hilary Sinclair’s Upside Down is a fast-paced sci-fi novella that will keep you wondering what is coming up next.
